Where It Began

it began with an innocent question
a simple need for transportation
then you arrived
with that ear to ear grin
we talked and discovered a common connection

we drank we danced we talked some more
i felt something i was reluctant to mention
we sat with my legs inside of yours
you were giving me a lot of attention

then you left. what???

i was confused
had more booze
but didn't forget about you
i wasn't through
nowhere near done
liked you
thought you'd be fun

so i waffled and worried
wondered and waited
i didn't know if you wanted to
or if i was ready to be dated
in this journal of mine
you filled more than a few pages

finally...
a touch
a kiss
reassurance from you
what i felt and suspected
it was all true

and now, what now?
i'm euphoric to be with you
